Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading residential developer who is searching for a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the business.

The company has been operating for over 16 years and has built a reputation for building houses and apartment buildings. This is a great opportunity for an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor with Residential or Main Contracting experience who would like to join an Award-winning house developer who pride themselves on building quality prestigious developments.

You will be site based on a new and exciting project that will run until 2024, the project will consist of five new high-rise apartment blocks that will contain162 units.

You will report to the  Senior Quantity Surveyor and Managing Quantity Surveyor and the project will comprise of major groundworks, RC frame, cladding, glazing and interior fit-out elements and will have a total project value of £32 million.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Job Role

• You will be responsible for supporting the commercial lead on the site.
• Strive to optimise the profitability of the Contracts.
• Ensure that the Contracts achieve the optimum cashflow position.
• Assist with the completion and compliance with required contract documentation.
• Ensure that all contract documentation and sub-contract documentation is completed and stored centrally.
• Compliance with Commercial and Company procedures.
• Assist in the presenting and agreeing the external valuation with Client’s Representative.
• Assist with the pricing and agreeing variations with the Client’s Representative.
• Assist with the management of large risk subcontract accounts from inception to final accounts.
• Assist with the subcontract procurement strategy and implementation.
• Assist with the procurement of sub-contractors is in line with the Business Management System and that the packages cover the scope of the works.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Experience required

• HNC in Construction or relevant Degree level qualification.
• Working towards professional membership of MCIOB or RICS (Desirable).
• At least 2 years’ experience working as Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
• Main Contractor, Residential or Civil Engineering background.
• Experience of JCT form of contract.
• Strong team player, with the entrepreneurial ability to operate and excel in a changing on site environment.
• Well-developed analytical, oral and presentation / communication skills.
• Training and CPD’s will always be provided when required.
• Commutable to Poole on a daily basis.
