Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Construction Consultancy

Salary up to £35,000 + £5000 Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + Pension
Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading construction cost management consultancy, based near Denmead, who are searching for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their business.
The consultancy provides commercial support to a variety of main contractors and residential developers and have worked on medium to high-end residential, healthcare, retail, high rise, aviation, marine, coastal and commercial fit-out projects.
This role would suit an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor who is motivated to learn, who will have the opportunity to work alongside the director on a wide range of projects.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Assist with take off and measuring as necessary.
- Assist with monthly cost reporting.
- Assist with producing bills of quantities / pricing documents.
- Assist with the preparation and issue of tender documentation.
- Assist with the cost estimates / cost plans.
- Assist with and track and complete procurement process.
- Assist with letters of intent / appointment.
- Assist with preparation of contract documents.
- Assist with production of cash flow forecasts.
- Assist with post contract & cost control monitoring.
- Assist with Preparation of final accounts (both client and contractor side).
- Assist with and undertake valuations & assess variations.
- Provide assistance to the Project Manager.
- Attend pre-contract and post-contract meetings.
The Candidate
- A degree/work experience related to Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an Assistant or Quantity Surveyor.
- Proven track record working for either a Main Contractor or Consultancy.
- Excellent communication both written and verbal.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence, with fully insured vehicle.
- Willing to travel within the UK.
- CSCS certificate, would be an advantage
- Knowledge of JCT Suite of contracts.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft office suite.
- Competent with CAD / Measurement software.
