Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading maintenance and refurbishment contractor who is searching for a Quantity Surveyor with NHF Schedule of Rates experience.

The company operates across the residential and commercial sectors and prides itself on its reputation for quality workmanship.

Due to successfully winning a 5-year contract to manage reactive maintenance and voids refurbishment projects for a large housing association they are now searching for an experienced Surveyor with SOR experienced to be based from their Portsmouth office; however, home working is encouraged.

The Role

• As a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for pricing social housing, reactive maintenance and void projects using NHF Schedule of Rates. 
• Being responsible for the financial and technical aspects of the contract across all work streams including procurement, invoicing, payments, cash flow and cost control.
• Minimising costs where possible, maximising value and ultimately making profit.
• Working with direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring all work issued has labour targets to return agreed profit performance.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with the workforce, customers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
• Procuring materials, plant and subcontractors in line with contract budgets.

Experience

• Must have experience of working on schedule of rates contracts with the ability to price minor works from first principles.
• Experience in responsive and maintenance planned refurbishment environments.
• Proven ability to minimise cost and maximise value and profit.
• Previous experience working in the housing/local authority sector.
• Commercial awareness within reactive maintenance.
• Strong IT and Microsoft excel skills.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Proactive approach to work.
• Proven track record for being Reliable and punctual.
• Must hold a driving licence .
