Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading building contractor based in Portsmouth who is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business.

The business has been operating for over 30 years and has successfully built a strong reputation for delivering New Build and Refurbishment projects.

The company undertakes a broad range of projects for its clients across the Bespoke Residential, Commercial, Hotel, Education, Healthcare, Industrial and Local Authority sectors with projects ranging up to £15M.

This is a great time for a motivated Quantity Surveyor who is looking for a long-term employment opportunity to join an expanding business.  

The company will consider an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is able to run their own jobs with minimal supervision or an established Quantity Surveyor who can manage their projects on their own.

The Role:

• Responsible for the financial control of projects.
• Working with JCT contracts.
• Applications for payment in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
• Production of monthly cost reports and forecasting.
• Preparation of delay notices in accordance with contract terms.
• Processing monthly subcontractor payments.
• Picking up and valuing variations.
• Settling final accounts with main contractors.
• Site measures.

Experience:

• Previous experience with Refurbishment or New Build would be an advantage.
• Previous experience working with JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Minimum of 2 years Quantity Surveying experience working for a Main Contractor or Sub Contractor.
