Salary: Up to £80,000 + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + Pension

Blaymires Recruitment is partnering with a respected fit-out contractor based near Portsmouth, seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team.
With over 13 years in the industry, the company has established itself as a leading fit-out contractor delivering market-leading construction solutions across the industrial and commercial sectors.

Role Overview
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing competitive bids, and supporting project delivery within budget. A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards is essential. This role is office-based near Portsmouth with regular site visits, so a driving license is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to define project scope and objectives
• Perform material take-offs and quantify labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Analyse project documents to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
• Prepare detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and schedules
• Present estimates at bid review meetings to senior management
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project correspondence

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in pricing fit-out or refurbishment projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and industry standards
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines
