Estimator/Bid Manager – Marine Sector

Salary up to £55,000 + Car Allowance + Pension + 22 Days Holiday

Blaymires Recruitment is working with a respected Marine Contractor based near Portsmouth  who is searching for an Estimator/Bid Manager.

The company has a long tradition for undertaking a variety of marine base projects that include marinas, pontoons, berthing facilities, access bridges, pilings and private moorings across the UK.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive contractor who is looking for an Estimator/Bid Manager with Marine experience to join the business.

You will be responsible for providing quotations for projects ranging in value from £10 to £3M.

Key Duties

Ability to prepare quotations, tenders & associated bid paperwork.

Meeting clients and visit sites to understand requirements.

Identifying material and sub-contractors’ requirements.

Ability to prepare tenders on multiple projects.

Negotiating skills.

Site surveys/site visits.

Attending exhibitions.

Internal tender reporting.

Ability to use initiative.

Requirements:

Experience of estimating within the Marine or Civil Engineering Sector.

Ability to form relationships at all levels both internally and externally.

Identifying material and sub-contractors’ requirements.

Confidence in dealing with clients.

Piling experience would be useful, but not essential.

Understanding of Marine Leisure Industry would be beneficial but not essential.

Full UK driving licence required.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (Word/Excel/Outlook/Access).
