Estimator – Refurbishment / Fit-Out

Salary up to £65,000 + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + Pension

Blaymires Recruitment is representing a respected refurbishment contractor based in Southampton who is searching for an Estimator to join the business.

The company has been successfully completing refurbishment and fit-out projects for 25 years and undertakes projects across the private and public sectors, with values ranging up to £1.5M.

With their workload increasing they would like a motivated Estimator or Senior Estimator to join the business who is looking for a long-term opportunity.

The Role

• Reading drawings and completing detailed measurements for lump sum tenders.
• Obtaining quotes for all scope requirements from sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Collating detailed price lists for everything needed on each tender.
• Calculating the cost of materials, labour and prelims for tendered scope.
• Compiling tender submissions and issuing to potential clients in a timely manner.
• Presenting bids to clients and answering their mid and post tender queries.
• Making use of relevant computer software such as Excel, Word, Microsoft suite.
• Attending meetings and site visits with potential clients.
• Building and maintaining relationships with potential clients.
• Working in a fast-paced pre-construction team environment.

The Person

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an Estimator.
• HNC or Degree qualified.
• Good knowledge of JCT forms of contracts.
• Organised team player.
