Blaymires Recruitment is representing a regional contractor based in Winchester who is searching for a Contracts Manager with groundworks experience to join the business.
The company has been trading for over 13 years and undertakes all aspects of building work, including new build, design & build, refurbishments and groundworks projects for clients across the South and into London.
The company has a current turnover of £4million with plans to grow the business to £10million over the next five years. The company is steadily growing with a busy order book going in to 2023 and is looking for a hands-on Contracts Manager to lead and manage the Groundworks team and implement processes and procedures within the business. You will be based on their Aldershot site running a team of groundworkers and subcontractors on a variety of jobs.
This role would suit either an existing Contracts Manager or Project Manager with Groundworks experience who is happy to join a small, yet growing business and be hands-on and support the long-term growth of the business. The company will consider someone on either a salary or day rate basis.
The Role
- You will meet clients and their consultants to discuss jobs.
- You will attend client meetings.
- You will be responsible for preparing quotes.
- You will undertake Rams, procurement, programming and planning resources etc.
- You will oversee day to day management of works on site.
- You will look after transport and plant to ensure it is serviced regularly.
- You will oversee all H&S matters.
- You will work collaboratively with the project teams and sub-contractors, building strong and trusted working relationships.
- You will improve team capabilities and develop future strategies.
Requirements
- We are looking for an individual who is educated to Degree or HNC standard.
- You will have Groundworks or Civil Engineering experience.
- You will have excellent communication skills and a technical aptitude.
- You will have strong management and leadership capabilities.
- You need to possess an SMSTS certificate, First Aid certificate and hold a valid CSCS card.
- You will be proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
