Quantity Surveyor – Refurbishment / Fit-out / New Build
Andover, Hampshire
Salary £35,000 to £55,000 + Car Allowance + 22 Days Holiday + Pension + Health Care + Home Working

Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading building contractor based near Andover who is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business.

The company has been operating for over 30 years and has worked with numerous clients across the Retail, Leisure, MoD, NHS and Commercial sectors.

The company undertakes a variety of refurbishment, fit-out and new build projects that range up to £7M and often involve major structural steel alterations and include extension and basement projects.

With plans to steadily grow, they are looking for either an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor with construction experience to join the team.  Hybrid working is on offer with working from Home, Site and Office.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful applicant will possess the following core strengths:

• A good knowledge of JCT Contracts and a strong commercial acumen.
• Capable of working in a fast-track environment on projects predominantly across London and South of England.
• Strong negotiation skills to place subcontract orders and agree accounts.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or within a team providing support to the commercial and contracts departments.
• Organised management of variation remeasurement to enable prompt agreement of final accounts.
• Confident to represent the company in meetings with clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work to commercial targets to ensure that projects meet the financial requirements of the business.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years quantity surveying experience.
• Qualified at HNC or Degree level would be an advantage.
• Have refurbishment or new build experience.
• Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to different situations.
• Have experience in procurement and management packages.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
