Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading offsite design and build contractor who is searching for a Construction Estimator. The company has a proven track record of building outstanding, high-quality new buildings for the Ministry of Defence and Social Housing providers with project values ranging from £1M to £30M.

The company has sensible plans to expand their turnover going into 2023 and are now looking for a  Construction Estimator to join their friendly and supportive business.

The Role

• As Estimator you will provide estimating support by analysing proposals and requirements to provide accurate cost information for all projects.
• You will be responsible for  cost estimates to support tender documents by understanding the client & project requirements.
• Understanding the project/program and its requirements.
• Understanding the scope of work & bill of quantities.
• Manage internal tender pricing process.
• Manage Bid pricing from supply chain.
• Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
• Obtain and review offers and quotes by sub-contractors.
• Perform risk analysis.
• Build relationships with key sub-contractors & suppliers.
• Source “new” sub-contractors & suppliers.

Experience & Qualifications

• The individual should have proven experience as an estimator in the Construction industry. Should be familiar with financial and project principles and able to understand scope of works & Bill of quantities.
• Ability to co-ordinate “take off’s” from drawings is essential especially Groundwork experience.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities both internal and external.
• They must have excellent organisational skills, be very detailed, thorough and reliable.
• Able to demonstrate previous experience of improving Tender proposals through their influencing & negotiating skills.
• Ability to operate successfully in a commercial environment and be flexible and resilient in dealing with other functions.

Offer details below:

• Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience
• Car Allowance £5,250 per annum
• Pension 4% matched by the company
• Life Cover 2X Basic salary
• Holidays: 25 per annum + Bank holidays

Hours:

Mon – Thursday 8.30am – 17.00pm with the option to work from home 2 days.

Fridays 8.30am – 13.00pm working from home
