Blaymires Recruitment is working with a respected Fit-out Contractor based near Portsmouth who is searching for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the business.

The company has been operating for over 10 years and have established themselves as a refurbishment specialist offering market-leading construction solutions within the industrial & commercial sectors.

They require an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work alongside the Commercial Manager and will be responsible for commercially managing various internal and external fit-out projects within the commercial, warehouse and industrial sectors, with projects values up to £1.5 million.

The company will consider either an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor who is ambitious and looking for an opportunity to advance their career with a growing contractor.

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Assisting with any pricing variations
• Liaising with the procurement department
• Assisting with initial contract reviews
• Negotiating costs with various parties
• Drawing up contracts (JCT/Bespoke)
• Monthly reporting (CVR)
• Preparing final accounts
• Responsible for work package change control and management

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor – (Advantage)
• Degree / HND in Quantity Surveying
• Excellent IT and maths skills are essential
• Attention to detail
• Excellent report writing and negotiation skills are essential
