Salary up to £60,000 + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + Pension

Blaymires Recruitment is representing a professional building contractor based near Bridport, Dorset who are searching for a Quantity Surveyor.

The company is well known for undertaking refurbishment and new build projects and has earned a first-class reputation for successfully completing a variety of projects for private clients, local authorities, housing associations, insurance companies with contracts ranging up to £1.5 Million.

The company is steadily expanding and is seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor who is looking for a long-term career opportunity to grow with the business.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing three projects at any time depending on size and complexity and will report to the Commercial Director.

You will be a knowledgeable Quantity Surveyor from a main contracting background, one who is charismatic when dealing with clients and their professional teams, but also firm when required.

You will have refurbishment and new build experience with a good understanding of JCT forms of contract experience.

You will be responsible for all aspects of quantity surveying from early construction phases including measurement, valuation, CVRs and managing payment applications throughout the project to final account.

Requirements:

5+ years' Main Contracting QS background

Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Experience of working with JCT or NEC forms of contracts.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

HNC in Construction or relevant Degree level qualification

Ambition and desire to succeed.

Skills

Good working knowledge of MS Office – Intermediate level of Excel.

To be able to write clear and precise communications which might include detailed and complex figures, calculations, and specific building information.

A practical, logical and methodical approach to thinking and problem solving. 

Confident in dealing directly with Architects, Surveyors, clients and subcontractors.

A good understanding of traditional building methods and products.

Salary up to £55,000 + Car Allowance.
