Quantity Surveyor

Salary £48,000 + Car Allowance + Pension + 25 Days Holiday
A leading commercial main contractor based in Ringwood is searching for an Surveyor to join the business.
The company is an established contractor who undertakes a variety of refurbishment, extension and new build projects across the UK. Recent projects have included Industrial Units, Schools and Car Showrooms that range in value from £500K to £4M.
With their workload increasing they would like a motivated Surveyor who can manage two live projects at any one time and has a good understanding of JCT contracts. As Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to price variations and undertake estimating duties when required.
This role would suit an Intermediate Surveyor who is already managing their own projects or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for an opportunity to step up.

The Role
- To be responsible for managing all costs, saving money where applicable.
- To keep a tight control of variations on site, record all variations, price them and accurately record their effect on final accounts.
- To manage allocated projects, packages and subcontractors, calculate and prepare all company valuations and assist with final accounts.
- To prepare and present monthly job cost analysis data.
- To analyse current methods and procedures and develop improved methods of working.
- To organise, order and manage subcontract orders, applications and assist with subcontract enquiries and management.
- To estimate and price new enquiries.
The Person
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Must be willing to estimate projects.
- HNC or Degree qualified.
- Good knowledge of JCT forms of contracts.
