Salary up to £70,000 + Car Allowance + 23 Days Holiday

Here at Blaymires Recruitment Ltd we are currently representing a high-end residential building contractor based in Chichester who is searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor

This respected contractor has built a reputation for building beautiful new houses for private clients as well as undertaking high class refurbishments and renovations of country homes, estates, period town houses and listed properties.

The Role 

The business requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor to initially manage projects and once established within the business, you will move up into a Managing Quantity Surveyor role.   As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will then manage a small team of Surveyors and will be responsible for all commercial matters and will work alongside the existing General Manager.

This is a great opportunity for an existing Senior Quantity Surveyor or Senior Project Quantity Surveyor who is looking to make their mark and step up.

The current turnover of the office is £11 million per year and projects range in value from £500k to £5 million.

Main Duties

· To keep a tight control of variations on site and assist Site Managers and Contracts Managers in recording all variations, pricing them and accurately recording their effect on final accounts 

· To manage allocated projects, packages and subcontractors, calculation and preparation of all company valuations and final accounts

· To prepare and present the monthly job cost analysis data 

· To analyse current methods and procedures and develop improved methods of working.

· To organise, order and manage subcontract orders, applications and assist with subcontract enquiries and management 

· To establish a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies 

· To liaise with Accounts Departments to ensure cash flow for forthcoming monthly payment certificates  

· In time, to manage a small team of Quantity Surveyors and uptake full commercial responsibility of the office

The Person 

· Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor

· HNC or Degree qualified 

· Strong knowledge of JCT form of contracts experience required
