Salary up to £65,000 + Car Allowance + 25 days Holiday + Pension
A regional building contractor based near Newbury is searching for an Estimator to join the business. They have built up a strong name delivering refurbishment and new build projects up to the value of £7 million.
They are looking to grow their estimating department and will consider either an Estimator or Senior Estimator, who is looking for a rewarding long-term career opportunity.
Projects are throughout the South and range across the following sectors: Residential, Commercial, Education, MOD and Heritage.
You will be joining a friendly and supportive business who values their staff and offers ongoing career development and training. You will report to the Estimating Manager and ideally will have a minimum 5 years’ experience in pricing construction projects.
Responsibilities:
· You will be responsible for the preparation of the tender with assistance from other members of the pre-construction team.
· Manage the production of the tender costs in consultation with the Project Planner, Design Manager and Bid Manager allocated to the project.
· Obtain suitable market quotations to substantiate the prime cost utilising the supply chain.
· Deliver accurate prime cost submissions at the adjudication meeting in a professional and logical manner.
· Advise the Line Manager of improvements / innovation within the company or externally of which you become aware.
· Estimate result in winning contracts that meet or exceed business expectations.
· Handover of successful tender information such that the site teams are suitably briefed.
Individual:
•Appropriate academic and construction qualifications, detailed knowledge of construction in both new and refurbishment work.
•The candidate must be able to confidently communicate with all members of the pre-construction team, Directors, Clients and Consultants.
•The candidate must be able to work to strict deadlines.
•HNC or Degree qualified.
•Good understanding computer based estimating packages.
