Salary up to £38,000 (depending on experience) + Car Allowance + 22 days Holiday + Pension.
This is a rare opportunity for a Trainee or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a respected high-end contractor who builds and undertakes refurbishments and renovations of country homes throughout the South of England.
You will be joining a family business with over 60 years’ experience working on some of the finest properties and will be joining a highly experienced team to complete large scale projects of high value and complexity.
You will be based predominantly on site, with a typical project duration of 1-3 years. From new builds to period refurbishments upwards of £10m in value, no two projects are the same and you will be given the opportunity for continual challenge and growth.
Key Tasks
- Assist with compiling and tendering of subcontract and supplier packages.
- Assist with the placing and management of subcontract and supplier order packages.
- Assist with both on-site and drawing based measurement to produce quantities for material ordering and checking of invoices.
- Assist in the preparation of and invoicing of monthly client valuations.
- Assist the commercial department in the daily tasks relative to running of numerous construction projects.
- Assist in the monthly checking of sub-contractor and supplier invoices to ensure agreed costings and rates and issue approval of payment.
- General administration to assist in efficient running of busy commercial department.

- Be able to communicate effectively.
- Well organised and possess a methodical approach.
- IT skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Dropbox.
- Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
- An appreciation of commercial awareness.
