Salary £75,000 + Car Allowance + 25 days Holiday + Pension

A respected regional building contractor with a rich history of delivering new build and refurbishment projects based in Oxford is searching for an Estimator.

With confidence returning to the Construction sector, they are seeing a steady influx of tenders and are looking to grow their estimating function.  They will consider Estimators or Senior Estimators who are looking for a rewarding long-term career opportunity.

Based in Oxford, they complete projects in the following sectors: Residential, Commercial, Education, MOD and Heritage. The values of projects range from 3 Million to £20 Million.

You will be joining a well-established Estimating team and will report directly to the Estimating Director. Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Estimator with a recognised Main Contractor.

Responsibilities:
Be responsible for the preparation of the tender with assistance from other members of the pre-construction team.
Manage the production of the tender costs in consultation with the project planner, design manager and bid manager allocated to the project.
Obtain suitable market quotations to substantiate the prime cost utilising the supply chain.
Deliver accurate prime cost submissions at the adjudication meeting in a professional and logical manner.
Advise line Manager of improvements / innovation within the company or externally that you become aware of.
Estimates result in contracts that meet or exceed business expectations.
Handover of successful tender information such that the site teams are suitably briefed.

Individual:
Appropriate academic and construction qualifications, detailed knowledge of construction in both new and refurbishment work.
The candidate must be able to confidently communicate with all members of the pre-construction team, directors, clients and consultants.
Candidate must be able to work to strict deadlines.
