Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading maintenance and refurbishment contractor based in Poole, Dorset who is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business.
The company undertakes Responsive Repairs & Planned Works for their social housing and public sector clients across the South.
The company is steadily growing, and they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor with NHF schedule of rates experience. The ideal candidate will have worked within the Social Housing sector and will have experience of overseeing planned and responsive works.
The role encompasses managing the contract commercially, supporting the operational team, quoting works, procuring & managing subcontractors, measuring works, conducting a robust application process, invoicing and managing dispute resolution.
The day-to-day commercial management of the contract as assigned will include pre start inspections, work in progress monitoring, post inspection, site measurement, valuations, cost modeling & forecasting, invoicing, cost reconciliation and supply chain procurement & management along with all reporting responsibility.
The contract covers Planned Works in and around the Poole area for several clients, delivering kitchens, bathrooms, roofs and measuring day to day responsive and void works.
Skills/Duties of the Quantity Surveyor – NHF:
- Good knowledge of SOR, Open Book or Cost Plus pricing models.
- Commercially aware and able to maximise profit and cash management.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of claims and dispute resolution.
- Experienced of preparation and understanding of financial reports.
- Ability to manage own time and priorities work effectively.
- Experience of managing sub-contract orders, buying and estimating processes.
- Experience in management accounts and forecasting.
