Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading main contractor based in Ringwood who is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business.

The company is an established contractor who undertakes a variety of refurbishment, extension and new build projects across the UK.

Recent projects have included Industrial Units, Schools and Car Showrooms that range in value from £500K to £4M.

With their workload steadily increasing they are looking for a motivated Quantity Surveyor who can manage two live projects at any one time and has a good understanding of JCT contracts.

This role would suit a experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor who can successfully demonstrate being able to run projects from inception through to final account.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive contractor who has long-term plans to grow and will offer a stable and interesting career.

The Role

• You will be responsible for managing all costs, saving money where applicable.
• Will keep a tight control of variations on site, record all variations, price them and accurately record their effect on final accounts.
• Manage allocated projects, packages and subcontractors, calculate and prepare all company valuations and assist with final accounts.
• You will prepare and present monthly job cost analysis data.
• Analyse current methods and procedures and develop improved methods of working.
• To organise, order and manage subcontract orders, applications and assist with subcontract enquiries and management.
• To estimate and price new enquiries.

Skills Required:

• Strong commercial awareness and excellent technical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum 3 years’ main contracting experience
• HNC or Degree qualified.
