Blaymires Recruitment is representing a highly regarded southern based main contractor who is searching for a Project Quantity Surveyor who is based in the North Hampshire/ Berkshire area.

The company has been operating for over 45 years and has a rich history in delivering new build and refurbishment projects across a wide range of sectors, including Defence, Public Sector, Education, Health, Leisure, Commercial, Industrial and Residential with projects ranging in value from 1M to 20M.

The company will commence shortly on the construction of a design and build, new care home facility in the North Hampshire area worth £10M. This would suit a motivated Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor who would like to take the lead on the project and will report to the Commercial Manager.

The Role:

• To be responsible for managing all costs, saving money where applicable but still maintaining quality of work.
• To keep a tight control of variations on site and assisting Site Managers and Contracts Manager in recording all variations, pricing them and accurately recording their effect on final accounts.
• To manage allocated projects, packages and subcontractors, calculation and preparation of all company valuations and final accounts.
• To prepare and present monthly job cost analysis data.
• To analyse current methods and procedures and develop improved methods of working.
• To organise, order and manage subcontract orders, applications and assist with subcontract enquiries and management.
• To assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
• To liaise with Accounts Departments to ensure cash flow for forthcoming monthly payment certificates.

Experience required:

• You will be a Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a minimum 5 years’ main contracting experience.
• HNC or Degree qualified.
• Good knowledge of JCT D&B 2016.
• Good understanding of traditional building methods and products associated with refurbishment and new build projects.
• Strong numeracy and financial management.
• HNC or Degree qualified.
