Blaymires Recruitment is representing a well know medium size contractor based near Fareham who is searching for an Intermediate level Quantity Surveyor to join the business.

The company has a strong reputation for successfully delivering new build and refurbishment projects across the Construction, Health Care and Residential sectors with projects ranging in value between 1M to £8M. They have a busy order book going into 2022 and have a position for an intermediate level Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 5 years main contracting experience.

The company will consider applications form either an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor who has recently started managing their own projects.

Intermediate Quantity Surveyor – Responsibilities

• As Quantity Surveyor you will report to the Director and will be responsible for managing all project costs, saving money where applicable but still maintaining quality of work.
• To keep a tight control of variations on site and assisting Site Managers and Contracts Manager in recording all variations, pricing them and accurately recording their effect on final accounts.
• Manage allocated projects, packages and subcontractors, calculation and preparation of all company valuations and final accounts.
• The preparation and presentation of monthly job cost analysis data.
• Analyse current methods and procedures and develop improved methods of working.
• Organise, order and manage subcontract orders, applications and assist with subcontract enquiries and management.
• Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
• Liaison with Accounts Departments to ensure cash flow for forthcoming monthly payment certificates.

The Person

• Minimum 5 years’ main contracting experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
• HNC or Degree qualified.
• Good understanding of traditional building methods.
• Strong numeracy and financial management.
