Estimator / Surveyor – High End Residential / Construction

Bridport, Dorset

Salary up to £55,000 + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + Pension

Blaymires Recruitment is representing a professional building contractor based near Bridport, Dorset who are searching for an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor.

The company is well known for undertaking refurbishment and new build projects and has earned a first-class reputation for successfully completing a variety of projects for high-end private clients, local authorities, housing associations, insurance companies with contracts ranging up to £1.5 Million.

The company is steadily expanding and is seeking a motivated Estimator or Estimator / Surveyor who has experience in  pricing high end residential or commercial projects.

Duties will include:

• Dealing with incoming enquiries, attending client meetings to establish clients’ requirements and proposing recommendations.
• Completion of full tender process; constructing bespoke quotations, estimations and BoQ’s utilising drawings, specifications and site surveying.
• Calculate breakdowns/budgets for labour, materials, plant etc.
• Identify areas of risk.
• Achieve optimum conversion rates and achieve desired financial margins.
• Developing both product and service knowledge to represent the company to the highest of standards.
• Working closely with Contracts, Commercial and Office departments.

The Candidate:

• The candidate must be organised, self-motivated, methodical with attention to detail and have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a track record of negotiating and securing residential or commercial contracts are essential.
• The candidate must be personable and able to establish long-term relationships with clients to support future business growth.

Requirements:

• 5+ years' main contracting estimating experience.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• HNC in Construction or relevant Degree level qualification (Desirable)
• Ambition and desire to succeed.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office – Intermediate level of Excel.
