Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading Electrical contractor based near Eastleigh, Hampshire who is searching for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the business.

The company has a long tradition of successfully delivering retail, education, industrial and warehouse, hospitality and leisure projects across the UK with project values ranging from £50K to £1M.

The company is entering a sustained busy period and is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who is based within a 1 hour commute of Eastleigh.

The role of the Electrical Design Engineer:
You will be responsible for planning and designing electrical contracting projects and will liaise with clients and management to ensure that all company project plans and designs are delivered in a proficient manner. 

Responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer: 
•    The design & planning of contract fulfilment. 
•    Operating company design software application (Electrical OM) to achieve a 
      cogent and viable plan in accordance with customer specifications (if
      provided) or industry best practice. 
•    Inputting design data into company’s estimating software application (Ensign) 
     in order to produce a comprehensive list of requirements. 
•    Maintain the Ensign software database in a timely and efficient manner. 
•    The provision of the Electrical OM output to CAD for conversion to a project
     drawing pack. 
•    Checking CAD output to ensure that all project drawing packs are accurate
     and that they reflect customer specifications and Electrical OM output. 
•    Liaison with relevant third-party agencies to ensure that Project Plans take
      into account the third-party agencies needs and client focussed demands. 
•    Maintaining version control over all documents, plans and drawings in a     
      Project Pack. 
•    Submission of Project Packs to clients and amending such Packs as required
      by the Client. 
•    Producing and disseminating quote requests to relevant suppliers. 
•    Reviewing returns on quote requests and selecting suppliers in accordance
      with those quotations. 
•    Producing written reports relevant to the design and planning of client
      projects.
•    Liaison with clients, suppliers and subcontractors with respect to the fulfilment
     of company contracts. 
•    Ensure contracts are quoted correctly and variations captured. 
•    Complete O&M including as fits, materials and all required electrical
      certification. 
•    Companies member of IET.
