Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading off-site design and build contractor who is searching for a Design Manager with Modular construction experience to join the team.
The company is a high-performing, financially robust business with a proven track record in delivering modular building solutions. They have successfully delivered projects across the MoD, Healthcare, Residential and Commercial sectors with projects ranging from £1M to £30M.
The company will consider an experienced Senior Design Engineer / Designer or Design Manager who has a minimum 5 years’ experience in modular design and is proficient user of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM software gained within a Building/Architectural / Framing Environment.
You will be able to work on own initiative from conception through to production and site design on all modular buildings.
The Job Role
As the Design Manager, you will:
- To ensure Products and Projects are designed and built to conform to all client and regulatory requirements.
- Produce required production design drawings and information for the factory/site to build the project as required.
- Produce and maintain standard details & specifications.
- Maintain and design processes in line with Company QA systems.
- Manage your own production design workload & outsourced design teams effectively.
- Prioritise and programme workload in line with project programmes.
- Work with internal & external designers when required.
- Support, guide & coach other members of the design team as & when required.
- Produce product drawings & schedules.
- Attend factory project launch meetings.
- Send out in a timely manner project drawings to relevant sub-contractors for quoting and pass on to operations to raise the order.
The Person
- Design management experience.
- HND/HNC in Design or similar qualification
- AutoCAD, Revit and BIM software experience.
- Commercially aware.
- Modular build and traditional build knowledge essential.
- Good communication skills.

Hours:
- Mon – Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm.
- Fridays working from home – 8.30am – 1.00pm
