Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading maintenance and refurbishment contractor based in Godalming, Surrey who is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team.
The company undertakes a variety of social housing reactive, void and planned maintenance projects for their client Waverley Borough Council.
Due to an increase in work, they are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Surveyor / Estimator with reactive or planned maintenance experience using NHF Schedule of Rates.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for pricing social housing, reactive, planned and void projects using traditional and NHF Schedule of Rates.
Being responsible for the financial and technical aspects of the contract across all work streams including procurement, invoicing, payments, cash flow and cost control.
Minimising costs where possible, maximising value and ultimately making profit.
Working with direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring all work issued has labour targets to return agreed profit performance.
Developing and maintaining relationships with the workforce, customers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
Procuring materials, plant and subcontractors in line with contract budgets.
Experience
- Must have experience of working on schedule of rates contracts with the ability to price minor works from first principles.
- Experience in responsive and maintenance planned refurbishment environments.
- Proven ability to minimise cost and maximise value and profit.
- Previous experience working in the housing/local authority sector.
- Commercial awareness within reactive maintenance.
- Strong IT and Microsoft excel skills.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Proactive approach to work.
- Proven track record for being Reliable and punctual.
- Must hold a driving licence.
