Blaymires Recruitment is representing the UK’s leading Fire Safety and Facade consultancy based in Romsey who is searching for a Commercial Director to join their growing team.
The consultancy undertakes work nationwide, providing a complete solution to facade safety and compliance. They are presently working with a range of clients from social housing providers, landlords, private consortiums and management companies.
The Role
- Effectively managing the Project delivery and commercial team and assist the Managing Surveyor in the leadership of the Building Surveying Team, ensuring the Businesses remediation projects are managed profitably, productively, and full safety and compliance requirements are sustained.
- The role will also be responsible for ensuring the department follows the company ethos of continual improvement, repeatedly challenging company processes and considering process improvements or risk mitigation measures.
- A competence with construction contracts and deed of appointments guaranteeing instructed projects are run with minimal risk offer the necessary protections.
- Establishing and nurturing strong client relationships whilst addressing any client concerns/ queries to assist the team in delivering the project programmes.
- Meetings and discussions with other Project stakeholders such as Client Agents, Funding Partners, or local authority representatives.
- Overseeing the monthly CVR Process ensuring all project CVR’s are up to date and accurate.
- Maintaining/ Improving financial controls regarding invoicing/ revenue recognition and cash collection by the Project Delivery Teams.
- Working with external Sub-consultants establishing suitable levels of resource and enforcing the contractual process correctly apportioning risk to the correct area of the supply chain.
KPI’s
- Through the Company Time Management System, ensure utilisation of Project Delivery Team.
- Remediation Projects are to be delivered according to project programme, or through correct management of Notice of Delay, Extension of Time claims.
- Undertaking monthly commercial training sessions with the team
- Correct issue of Payless Notice/ Payment Applications to contractor and client.
- Variations are recognised, instructed, and invoiced in a timely manner.

- You should be approachable and presentable, maintaining the company’s image for quality customer service and expertise.
- You should effectively organise your time to ensure deadlines are correctly achieved.
- You should be risk driven, to manage and mitigate project and contract risks.
- You will be office based, with some home working considered.

Technical Qualified
- You will hold either FRICS, MRICS, FIOB or MCIOB.
- RICS or Degree in surveying and experienced senior surveyor within construction industry.
- Consultancy or Main Contractor experience.
