A leading shop-fitting contractor based near Southampton is searching for an Estimator to join the business.
The company has a proven reputation for working with well-known major Retail and Highstreet brands across the UK, and deliver individual refits, extensions and major rollout projects, ranging in value from £500K to £4M.
With their workload increasing they would like a motivated Estimator from either a shop-fitting or main contracting background who can price shop-fitting, fit-out and extension projects.
The Role
- Reading drawings and completing detailed measurements for lump sum tenders.
- Obtaining quotes for all scope requirements from sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Collating detailed price lists for everything needed on each tender.
- Calculating the cost of materials, labour and prelims for tendered scope.
- Compiling tender submissions and issuing to potential clients in a timely manner.
- Presenting bids to clients and answering their mid and post tender queries.
- Making use of relevant computer software such as Excel, Word, Microsoft suite.
- Attending meetings and site visits with potential clients.
- Building and maintaining relationships with potential clients.
- Liaising with other team members including Construction Managers, Planners and design teams to ensure tenders are compliant with client and main contractor requirements.
- Working in a fast-paced pre-construction sales team environment.
The Person
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an Estimator.
- A shop-fitting, refurbishment background would be an advantage.
- HNC or Degree qualified.
- Good knowledge of JCT forms of contracts.
- Organised team player.
